My Hero April 22, 2006

So I’ve been working on my grandfather’s scrapbook since Wednesday. I thought I was almost finished. However, I was wrongly mistaken. I’ve spent the last hour or so, attempting to pull articles out of a photoalbum. Mind you that these articles ARE NOT glued in, it’s one of those sticky albums that everyone thought was SO wonderful a few years ago, myself included becuase i put all of grandpa’s loose articles in here or… 7 or 8 years ago. I’m having to be VERY careful when pulling them out, because they are just crumbling beneath my touch. Yes these are very old articles, most from the 1930’s, but they are important to my grandfather.

I’ve plan to use my little heatless laminater on the articles. I want people to be able to take the articles out of the scrapbook. Plus, these articles are already falling apart. If I want my kids and their kids to be able to cherish this album as I do, as well as see my grandfather as a hero, I need to preserve these clippings. . .

I was hoping to get the scrapbook done sometime this weekend or atleast before next Friday (National Scrapbook Day) so that I can get started on another scrapbook. Plus my grandma has invested ALOT into getting the scrapbook done for grandpa I just want to complete it. Hopefully I can. I work tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday. That gives me Sunday, Monday and Thursday to get it completed.

Personally this is the best scrapbook that I’ve done so far. I’ve found my nitch so to speak. I done the scrapbook on black pages and neutral tone paper. This makes the pictures look so beuatiful in all their glory.

Hoepfully it will help people see how special he is. After all he is my hero.

Creative Mood April 19, 2006

I’m in an uber creative mood today, and plan to harnes that and SCRAPBOOK!!!! I’ve got one scrapbook that is really important to finish and that is my grandfathers. I’m worried that he won’t be around for much longer, and I want him to see his finished product.

I’ve also never gotten around to scrapbooking the 2004 Trip to Indy. I ordred all 94 prints today, should be here Friday. We got a 50 Gift Certificate from Creative Memories for our wedding. Used that to buy things for the GenCon Scrapbook. This book is only 7×7, so it will be a cuter smaller book. Never done one that small, but I’m going to try.

We got a new air conditioner unit yesterday. YEAH!!! It’s really nice too, our landlord went all out. Has a remote to change everything, timer, sleep, hunidity adjuster. It’s working pretty good. I’m in the office, and I’m kinda cold. Going to read the little booklet to see what all it can do.

Going to make some easter cookies I had bought. With the air broke this weekend, there was very little baking going on so they didn’t get made. Nows is as good as time as any. The boys are coming over tonight. They’ll eat them.

Long Time . . . No Write = Really Busy April 14, 2006

So I’ve been really busy and what why I haven’t been able to blog for awhile. Finding time to do so, hasn’t really been an option as of lately.

Grandpa is home, has been for a week or so now. Still doesn’t realize that he had a stroke, so that’s really hard. Watching him go down hill is the hardest thing. He gets worse every day. I picked my brother up from the airport last night. I think he’s going to be somewhat shocked when he sees grandpa. He’s changed a lot since the wedding. That was the last time Chad saw him. I’ve tried to convince grandma to go shopping with mom and I, but I”m not sure that’s going to happen.

Sylvan ROCKS… I get to practice teach tomorrow, so that should be fun and interesting. Hopefully, I’ll be able to remember what all I’m supposed to do. Tonight I need to do my math homework that is for Monday and Tuesday night. I know that I won’t be able to do it tomorrow night, because Clint and I are having a game night with my parents and my brother and sisiter-in-law.

Mom and Dad leave for their cruise next week, I might have to stay out there with Ceasar, their dog, becuase Slinky and Ceasar somewhat get along, but most of the time Slinky doesn’t really care for Ceasar.

I need to clean the office. It’s driving me CRAZY. . . So I believe that’s what I’m going to do now.

The Hunt April 6, 2006

So I went to Sylvan in Lee’s Summit today and picked up my books for my training which starts on Saturday, had to put down a $50 deposit saying that i would return the books. That’s okay, so I get the 50 bucks back, after training.

Hi-light of my day was that Clint let me cut his hair. I think I did pretty damn good. Looks like he paid money for it and all. We purchased some clippers, we can save money with his hair cuts atleast, buzzes are easy to do. The guys are in the kitchen gaming, I’m doing laundry and surfing the net.

Clint and I have been watching Firefly for the last couple of nights. That’s what we do during dinner, watch a few shows, and then clean up the dishes… It’s nice

Called Pleasant Hill today and left a message with the Principal. Hoepfully I’ll recieve a call tomorrow telling me yeah or nay… I’m over the insanity part of all this. Clint’s been really sweet about the whole thing, cried it out after the boys left last night. Made me feel somewhat better.

On the brighterside, Columbia sent me an email about an application for summer school…

Nothing April 4, 2006

Still no word. . . I’m on the verge of a mental break down, but physically and emotionally. My hopes are beginning to crumble with the school district. . . I have tomorrow off, first day off in six days!!! Insanity is going to over come me!!!

Long silence April 3, 2006

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. . . Grandpa is out of the hospital. He got to come home Friday, much later than he wanted, but we found out everything we needed to know. The type of stroke he had, according to the doctors, makes him believe that he in fact didn’t have one. This is because of the location of the stroke in his brain, he’s not in any pain and can functional pretty much normally, except he’s not allowed to drive anywhere any more. A Physical Thearapist is going to bo going 2 or 3 times a week I believe just to help in do some exercises around the house. He’s still in his upset mood, and cold all the time, but the doctor said that will get better with time.

I’m nearing the end of time working on base. THANK GOODNESS!!! They are getting their money out of me though. I work 6 days straight one day off, and then two more days. I noticed that they are giving me a little going away party. I thought that was really nice of them. I will miss my regulars though. I’ve gotten to know some of the people that come through my line, and I’ve been telling them I’m leaving. Those are the customers that always made me laugh or something while at work. The thing I’ll miss though more than anything goes along with my student teaching. Some of my students would come in to see me, I’ll miss that.

I start at Sylvan Learning Center on Saturday… I have to go up to the city on Wednesday to pick up my packet of information, then do my homework so I”m ready for Saturday. I should be hearing from Pleasant Hill soon, I’m really hoping for a job offer. This will pin-point where I’m going to be and what grade. No call as of yet though. I’m Really nervous about it.
