Today Slinky turned 6 years old. Clint and I celebrated his birthday by getting him some new toys, a new leash, collar, and a brand new kennel (which is still in process of being shipped from Petco). Slinky also got some homemade bread and some beef jerky for his birthday feast. Clint and I had a nice dinner since it was his birthday.

Let me introduce you to Hoops and YoYo. A new site that I love!

These guys are cute. They have their own little animated series on the website, as well as stuff you can buy, wall-papers for your computer and screen savers. Most of the screen savers make noise so be prepared. Check it out!

Today was a good day at work. I got there and there was a memo in my box about various things. Some of these things included needing teachers for Saturday mornings, and some teachers to teach some one week summer classes. I’ve already signed up to teach a class in July on building fractions, and decieded that Clint and I could use the extra cash so I signed up to teach a test-taking strategies class in June. Its $150 per class so there’s another $300 in my July paycheck. Which will help Clint go to Indy.

Unfornately I will not be going to Indy this year again. I’ve come to cope with the fact. Being a first year teacher, I will have to be getting my classroom ready, also we really can’t afford it. No biggie.

I rather be teaching anyway!!!

Well… I’ve spent the last oh… 2 hours or so working on an application for Odessa R-VII school district. I went onto good ol’ MoReap this morning to check for new job postings, and Odessa was on there for 5th grade. Just posted today. I called the school as instructed on the site, filled out all the paperwork (Lots of paperwork) went over to Barb’s office to fax it. I felt good faxing it because I spotted the opening THE DAY IT WAS POSTED. Got home, started to work on house work and the phone rings.

“Hello”

“Is this Cassie Krause?”

“Yes, this is she.”

“Mrs. Billings [Principal for Odessa Middle School where the 5th grade opening is], wanted me to let you know that all the positions have be filled. And that she is antipating no more openings for the 2006-2007 school year. Thank you for your application, it will be kept on file.”

“I understand, thank you for calling.”

-End phone call

I was left sitting in the chair speechless for five minutes. DO I really have THAT BAD of KARMA when it comes to getting a teaching job? In a matter of hours from the time the posting went up, and me filling out everything the job has been filled. I’m seriously beginning to doubt ever getting my dream job. No dream job . . . no teaching overseas. . .

Welcome to the land of self- doubt and depression, Mrs. Cassie Krause

Oh Happy Day . . . Yesterday May 28, 2006

Yesterday was a wonderful day. Clint and I went out had a nice dinner and then went to see the Da Vinci Code. It was a good movie, there were some very different parts from the book, but what movie isn’t like that. Clint had never read the book, so it was fun watching his face when the teacher was revealed, and at the ending.

We’ve been watching Clint’s sister’s Gayla’s dog this weekend, Lexi and Buster. Both are exteremly cute, so after the movie we went over to her place and let the dogs out. When we came home Slinky was realy excited to see us. When I took him outside. . . HE POOPED!!! Oh Happy Day. Slinky pooping outside was the best moment of the day. Hopefully this is a trend that he will keep up.

We are going to get the bikes cleaned up today, and go riding I believe. Family BBQ tonight, will be fun. I’m making jello as well as pumpkin spice bars. Yum!!!

Busy Morning May 26, 2006

So my morning started at 6:30am when the alarm went off. I decieded that I had too much stuff to do to lay in bed until 8 and then get up. Yesterday, Clint and I signed all the paperwork to consolidate all of our loans. One monthly payment is going to be a whole heck of a lot nicer than say 5-6, and paying interest. We got a locked in interest rate that they, Wells Fargo, can’t touch. Beautiful. We were given checks to pay off our credit cards and loans, so I went ahead this morining and got all that taken care of. I’m looking at a large stack of letters that are ready to go out once I leave the house.

I’ve been working like crazy and the house can atest to that. I’ve been trying to finish the laundry since Tuesday. One more load to wash and then I’m officially caught up on that. I cleaned the kitchen like a mad woman. It had been awhile since I’d mopped and cleaned everything so the Kitchen is done. Bathroom is done as well. I managed to get the bedroom done yesterday, so I’ve only got two more rooms to do. The office, which consists of Clint putting the huge stack of gaming books back onto the shelf where they belong, and then sweeping and swiffering. Shouldn’t take so long, after Clint puts away the books. He has all his game books organized in a specific way, so me putting them away isn’t a good idea. Then the living room. I usually do the living room last because I throw things into there that don’t belong in said room I’m cleaning. Also, I can relax in the living room once clean. If I clean it first I’ll want to relax then and there and forget the rest of the house.

I’ve got a dentist appointment at 1pm today. Then I’ll come back and finish up the house. It will be nice and clean when the boys come over to game tonight. I’ll be gone. I’m going to go see Over the Hedge. Clint’s not to thrilled about going to see those type of movies, so I’m going with my mom and dad.

Tomorrow Night Clint and I are going to go out and have a nice dinner someplace and then go to a movie. We haven’t gone to a movie in a while, so it will be nice to get cleaned up nice and have a romantic night just the two of us. Sure we spend most of our time just the two of us, but it’s different when you get dressed up and go out. Makes you feel good inside.

That’s what’s important in any relationship, making each other feel good.
