A Day of Firsts… or at least starting again October 26, 2006

So today is a day of firsts, well at least for the most parts. My niece is currently in labor about to have my great niece. How exciting. I totally wish that I could be there with her, seeing as the whole Krause Clan is there right now, including Clint. It kinda sucks that I can’t.

Today I had my first parent-teacher conferences. They went pretty good for the most part. I only have 15 to 20 minutes with each parent, and I have LOTS to cover. The 8th grade teacher sat in on a few with me, to somewhat help me out with the parents.

I went BACK to Curves. I did it when I was in college, and felt so much better about myself. I choose the one in Pleasant Hill, because I drive by it everyday to work. The work out was wonderful, at least that’s what I’m thinking right now. My goal is at least 3 times a week 4 if I can swing it in! Yeah ME!!!

I haven’t been feeling very well lately, and I’m been putting off going to the doctor for some time now. I hate switching doctors, however with the move, I kinda need to. It’s that time for me to get my annual test of my blood sugar. As well as other things. So off to the doctor I go tomorrow. I got a teacher to cover my class while I go. Hopefully i get back in time for my first parent teacher conference for tomorrow.

The last few nights I have been wiped! Monday night i actually went to bed at 8:30, much to the taunting of my husband. I was so tried though. Funny thing is that he got tired and then realized what time it was. Then started picking on me. Oh well.

Tomorrow I start school again. My grad school classes. Assessment Strategies! WOOT!

Time to fold laundry. Now that i have a washing machine and dryer, it’s a never ending battle!

If this doesn’t sum up my entire purpose in life, then I don’t know what does.

“Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.”

15 Miles Of Twists and Turns October 9, 2006

Clint and I went to a corn maze this weekend. Here’s what it looks like from the sky.

We started at the big open circle at the top without using our map. We were trying to go blind to find the first checkpoint. Mind you there are 24 check points throughout the maze. We found a total of 5 in an hour and a half.

We think that we walked about 3 or 4 miles within this maze. If you walk EVERYTHING it’s around 16 miles. Crazy huh.

You can go through this maze at night with flashlights. I think we are going to try and get everyone together and go through it after sunset.

It was a blast. We also went into the pumpkin field to get our pumpkin!
