Learning the Ups and Downs of Motherhood

Christmas November 18, 2007

So I’ve spent the lat hour or so making my Christmas Shopping List.  I’ve decided that I need to get what we are getting everyone for Christmas, where I’m getting it, and how much it is figured out.   I LOVE Christmas.  Right now I’m sitting on the big couch next to the end table looking into the dining room.  I’m trying to figure out where we should put our Christmas Tree.  Where we had it last year is occupied  now by a table. The only thing I can think of is putting the table upstairs in the spare bedroom until after Christmas.  But that will mess up plans to do the nursery.

Another idea is to move the end table, and put the table in the dinning room where the end table is. Then I can put the tree in the previous spot. I really badly want to put up the Christmas tree, but I’ve got to figure out where and soon.

I’ve got to finalize my Christmas list, before people start bugging me about it.  Clint actually got his done before me. CRAZY!  Time to get back to work!

So. . . I thought I had our bedding picked out for Dade. Ducks and Frogs. Really cute. Pale green and yellow colors. However. . . it was brought to my attention of a Pirate bedding set for babies. So I came home and googled it. Sure enough:

Clint and I took one look at it, and instantly feel in love with it!!! I believe that it’s a new set because I’ve been on Babies R Us every week and I haven’t seen it before.

Just call him Pirate Dade!!

Forbidden November 4, 2007

Well. . . I guess forbidden is a strong word to use. How about stressed strongly against use. What is this I’m talking about. Something so very simple, but it fills my house all the way to the top. STAIRS. My Ob has strongly suggested to me that I am no longer allowed to go up stairs. Which here at the house promotes an interesting problem. Now, at school, no biggie. I’ve worked it out with my fellow fifth grade teachers, and special teachers to bring them up the stairs where I will meet them. We have an elevator at my school. It is a five story building after all. But here at home, no elevator. So here’s what I’ve been doing. When I get home I come up the steps and stay on the main floor until it’s time to go to bed. Clint’s been really good with bringing my pjs to me, or bringing the laundry from the garage up to me to fold, and then up the stairs to the bedroom. I’m carrying Dade low, so going up and down those stairs is a real pain. I carried a load of laundry up them yesterday because Clint was alseep, and man it took the wind right out of me.

I’m six months today. Seems like the other day we found out that I was pregnant. Our goal is to work on the nursery during Christmas break. Which honestly isn’t that far away. I have two weeks of school and a few days before Thanksgiving break, and boy do I need it. Then half the month of December. Break, then back to school for two more months before I have Dade! Crazy!!! We are going to be taking my birthing classes the month of January. I’m excited about that. I have another OB appointment this week Friday. I need to set up the time for the 4d ultrasound. I can’t wait to do that, but I have to wait another month.

I can feel Dade move around like crazy. I had Clint put his hand on my belly yesterday to see if he could feel it but he couldn’t. I’m sure in the next few weeks he might be able to. Well I’m absolutely starving, so I’m going to get something to eat for breakfast!
